One-page explainer
heatmark — heat-and-cool enquiries you don't share, one installer per district
The problem with shared leads
Checkatrade and MyBuilder work, but a lead usually goes to three to six other tradespeople at the same time. You're not just competing for the job, you're competing for the enquiry.
What we do instead
We post letters under your name to homes that suit a heat-and-cool system — an air-to-air heat pump that heats in winter and cools in summer — never a shared list, never sold to two installers in the same district. From October to March the letters lead with heating; from April, with cooling.
How targeting works. Every owner-occupied home in England gets a score built from public property records, mainly the Energy Performance Certificate register. The score asks four questions about the house, never the people in it — is it hard to keep comfortable (modern airtight construction, rooms in the roof, large glazing), is it a bigger job (floor area, how affluent the area is), is there somewhere to put an outdoor unit (detached, then semi, then terrace, then flat), and why now (put on the market recently, an extension, solar panels already on the roof). Listed buildings and homes that already have a heat pump are never written to; conservation-area and Article 4 homes are scored down. Measured on the whole register at score v2.1.0: 2.2 million homes qualify, 99.7% of them houses averaging 145 m², across 991 sellable postcode districts in every English region.
What you get. Only replies — never the address list. A homeowner who responds gives explicit consent naming you specifically, then you get the enquiry by email to follow up directly. Every installer account is F-Gas certified and checked before it goes live.
Exclusivity. One installer per postcode district. Once your pilot or subscription holds a district, we don't sell it to anyone else, for as long as you keep it (for a pilot, until 60 days after the last letter).
Pricing. Start with a pilot: 500 letters for £600 across up to 5 postcode districts, one payment, nothing renews. First letters posted within 2 weeks of payment, or your money back. After that, £149/month covers up to 5 districts; letters are £0.95 each on top, printed and posted through our account. No bidding against other tradespeople for the same enquiry.
The reply channel. Every letter carries a QR code, a short link and a phone number, all pointing to the same page: call, WhatsApp, or a callback form with an explicit consent checkbox naming you — because we can't pass on a homeowner's contact details without their say-so, and neither can you use them for anything beyond what they agreed to.
How we prove it works. Every batch holds back 10% of matching homes, unmailed, as a control group — so any lift from targeting is something we can show you, not something we tell you. We haven't posted a campaign yet, so we quote no response rate.
Timing
October to March is when installers say lead times shrink — two to four weeks versus eight to twelve in high summer — so it's when you have room for more work. This winter the letters lead with heating; from April, with cooling.
